Government sanctions Rs 3,027.86 crore for disaster mitigation projects in states

A high-level committee chaired by union home minister Amit Shah has approved Rs 3,027.86 crore for disaster mitigation projects in several states. These include lightning safety initiatives in 50 high-risk districts, drought assistance to 12 states, and forest fire risk management in 144 districts across 19 states. The committee also approved urban flood and landslide risk mitigation projects.
