Assam in talks with Isro, may be first state to have own satellite

Assam is in talks with Isro to launch a Rs 450-500 crore geostationary satellite to monitor illegal infiltration, provide flood warnings, and support farmers with weather data. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the plan after allocating funds in the 2025-26 budget.
