Abbas Ansari disqualified as UP MLA after conviction in hate speech case

Abbas Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari, has been disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly following his conviction in a 2022 hate speech case. The special MP-MLA court sentenced him to two years imprisonment, leading to the declaration of his Mau assembly constituency as vacant.
