The Karnataka assembly lounge now features 15 recliner chairs, including two massage chairs, to allow MLAs to take quick naps after lunch. This initiative, proposed by speaker UT Khader, aims to improve post-lunch session attendance. Khader had noted that many MLAs and MLCs leave Vidhana Soudha after lunch and fail to return for the remainder of the session, leading to poor attendance in post-lunch proceedings.

EAM Jaishankar to visit UK & Ireland to strengthen strategic partnerships

External affairs minister S Jaishankar will visit the UK and Ireland from March 4-9. In the UK, he will negotiate with foreign secretary David Lammy and engage with dignitaries and the Indian community. The visit aims to strengthen the India-UK comprehensive strategic partnership in trade, defense, health, and education. From March 6-7, he will visit Ireland to meet foreign minister Simon Harris, officials, and the Indian diaspora.

Delhi airport launches new system to improve airside operations

Delhi airport operator DIAL has launched the Unified Total Airside Management (UTAM) system to enhance operational efficiency and safety. Using AI, ML, IoT, and radar, UTAM monitors airside vehicles, tracks aircraft movements, and prevents delays by issuing alerts. It optimizes turnaround time, taxiway allocation, and runway occupancy while ensuring compliance with speed limits. After a successful pilot with Akasa Airlines, other airlines will join in phases at IGI Airport.
